Sanctuary Spa Tour - Sanctuary Camelback Mountain 5700 East Mc Donald DriveParadise Valley, Arizona 852531-800-245-2051While sitting at the Oasis Pool at the InterContinental Montelucia Resort and Spa over the weekend, I was reading an article in Conde Nast Traveler on 2009 Spa Poll Results. Best Bali Spa Furniture Review 2022 and Paradise Valley resorts had made the cut, but I took particular notice at the 96.1 facilities score for Sanctuary Spa (Sanctuary Camelback Mountain). I have a particular soft spot for great spa facilities. Sanctuary was just a few miles from where I was staying - I knew it was time for a field trip.My timing was great - it was early Sunday evening and the spa traffic was winding down for the day. I gave my business card to the spa desk and asked if I could have a tour. I was given a warm welcome by Daphne, a spa attendant who showed me around with passion and pride as if the place were her own. Best Bali Spa Furniture Review was obvious that Daphne is a favorite of the spa guests. Some highlights of my tour:The spas signature color, chartreuse green, was tastefully sprinkled throughout the spa - most notably the bathrobes Mascioni linens on the treatment tables that felt like satin (and in the guest rooms) The private Watsu pool, surrounded by bamboo The Sanctum - A private, shaded outdoor suite for one or two people. Featuring stone-walls, deluge shower, vitality pool, treatment tables and day bed A couple's suite with fireplace and Asian design An outdoor lap pool Meditation garden and reflecting pond Views from just about everywhereYou have to walk outside to get to the 12 treatment rooms. The treatment rooms are housed in separate buildings. Each room opens up to the outdoors, so you can experience indoor shelter with outdoor breezes. Very unique spa architecture. After my tour of the spa, the Spa Operations Manager (Selene) arranged for a tour of the spa casitas. An energetic young man from the bell desk gave me a grand tour of the resort on a golf cart. Much like Daphne from the spa, the hotel employee had so much pride as he showed me around.I toured the inside of the spa casita rooms and the spa casita suites - which are the nearest accommodations to the spa and carryover the look and feel of the spa to the guest room experience. My impressions:Overall impressionsEverything is high end and plush. Linens (Mascioni), tea (Tea Forte), candlelight turndown service with lavender, spa products in the bath. Spa casita rooms650 square feet Contemporary furnishings Floor to ceiling windows Patio with dramatic view Walk-in closet Bathroom features two sinks, oversized bathtub and separate shower Spa casita suites1200 square feet Separate living room with fireplace and wet bar Shaded outdoor soaking sub (so cool!) Large walk-in closet Patio that extends the length of the sitting room and bedroom with dramatic views After my tour of the guest rooms, I was shown the lobby, restaurant (Elements) , bar (Jade), outdoor terrace bar (Edge), and infinity edged main pool. The resort has a hip vibe and a cool feel to it.The staff who showed me around could not have given me a warmer welcome. Impressive, considering I wasn't yet a guest at Sanctuary. But they have the right idea - because someday, I just might be!
